Your Club Needs Marshals!

A highly modified vehicle is not necessary, in fact a number of current marshals do not even have their vehicles on the road at the moment! A winch is useful but you may find yourself non-stop winching at sites like Minstead.

What is required is a little recovery knowledge and some common sense.

At most events, if there are sufficient marshals, the event organiser will rotate them so that the marshal’s get a chance to have a play as well.

The club runs marshal training days once or twice a year to demonstrate recovery techniques and the dangers to be aware of. It is a good idea to attend one of these even if you do not wish to be a marshal as the information given is invaluable.
